Childminding
Childminding is a form of supervision and education for children up to the age of 13. It is a legally recognised form of childcare, provided in a family-like environment in accordance with § 29 of the Hessian State Child and Youth Welfare Code (HKJGB).
The childminding services office (“Kindertagespflegebüro”) of the City of Bad Homburg offers childminder mediation services for parents while also supporting childminders in the performance of their tasks. You may choose from the childcare options best suited to your individual needs.

Childcare provided by childminders (male or female)
The childminding services office of the City of Bad Homburg offers parents three childminding options:
- Childminding at the family’s residence
- Childminding at the minder’s residence
- Childminding at a daycare centre
The childminding services office is happy to advise you on the options available to you.
Requests for a childminder can be made via the LITTLE BIRD online portal or at the childcare services office directly.
Becoming a childminder
The childminding services office of the City of Bad Homburg offers advance training courses for basic and further qualification as a childminder. These seminars inform participants on subjects such as developmental psychology, nutrition, early-age education, legal basis and first aid.
